Deciduous tree, 20-30 ft, oval rounded crown, contorted stems, "corkscrew" effect extremely evident after leaf fall.
The plant is known by many names, from corkscrew willow to Willow Salix matsudana ‘Tortuosa’, Corkscrew Willow, Dragon's Claw Willow, Contorted Willow, but its one-of-a-kind branching formation remains the same. Grown for its beautifully curled branches that add loads of visual interest in the landscape and in flower arrangements.
A rapid grower that will add 3-5 feet per year as it matures, this willow tree can be pruned at will. This tree is trouble-free and simple to grow, requiring incredibly little time or attention to produce impressive results.
They fancy full sun or remarkably light shade.
Hardy to USDA Zone 4 -10
